2018 had a few highs but some real lows too.I'm really looking forward to this year. Hope to have a new workshop/studio in the next month or so. Will be getting down to some serious recording, and hopefully a new album in 2019. Lot's of dates coming in, so hope to see you at a gig soon.
I had an absolutely great time touring with Del Amitri last month. All shows were fantastic but my personal highlights were Edinburgh Castle and Hammersmith Apollo. It's a shame it's over, hope there's a next time. Hope to post some photos soon.

April 2017 April Update
On Saurday April 1st, Kris took part in a 24 hour music marathon, along with many other musicians, at The Blue Peter Inn, Polperro, to raise funds for Human Care Syria. The event managed to raised over £4,500, a fantastic amount of money which is going to help child victims of the war in Syria.
We are still adding live dates to the diary, so keep an eye on the 'Live' page.
March 2017 March Update
Sadly Kris's 'Song A Day' in February has come to an end. It was quite a commitment, recording and uploading a different song each day but Kris's love of everything Fahey made February fly by. For those of you that missed this exciting project, you can still view the month's worth of videos, either on the 'Song a Day for February' page on this website, or by visiting the playlist on You Tube.
February 2017 February - A Song A Day
During the month of February, Kris will be uploading an instrumental song a day to his You Tube channel, in memory and appreciation of John Fahey. Fahey was born on February 28th 1939 and passed away on February 22nd 2001. John Fahey has been a huge inspiration to Kris, and this gives him the chance to play songs both written by the main man himself and some original tunes penned by Kris.
November 2016 November Update
Just back from a great run of gigs in Kent, which included an unrehearsed jam with some old mates in Medway, good fun!
The charity album 'Pasted Beyond Recognition' featuring cover versions of Del Amitri songs, will be released on December 19th. I am really looking forward to playing my contribution, at the album launch night, on December 17th at Oran Mor in Glasgow. There are a few tickets still available. It promises to be a great evening, raising money for a very worthy cause, the Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland. You can buy your tickets here

20th September 2016 September Update
Kris is very happy to be working on a track for a new charity album, of Del Amitri covers. It was difficult to choose just one song, but he finally decided on an old B side, 'The Return of Maggie Brown'. Other artists featured on the album include Andy Alston, Bryan Tolland, Tom Macrae and Mr JC himself. Will post more details soon.
Kris has a very busy weekend coming up. On Sunday he will be performing at the Looe Music Festival, a fantastic festival in the pretty Cornish coastal town, featuring four stages. July 2016 Back on the road
Less than two weeks after his surgery, Kris was up in London, recording a session with the one and only Roger Daltrey and Ruffy and Segs from the Ruts DC.
He is back on the road this weekend, making an appearance at the Cornbury festival in Oxfordshire, accompanied by multi instrumentalist Mike Jelly.
Look out for more dates coming soon.
May 2016 Update
As some of you are aware, Kris has suffered poor health for some time. As a result, he scheduled to have another op at the beginning of June. Sadly, this has meant cancelling a number of dates in the run up to and after his surgery, including a performance at Glastonbury, which he had waited many years for.
He should be back in action at the end of June and he's looking forward to playing at some great venues and festivals over the rest of the year, including a performance at the Cornbury festival,in July, where he will be accompanied by multi-instrumentalist, Mike Jelly.
March 2016 Refugee Aid Gig
On Friday 1st April, I'll be playing a special gig, along with friends and fellow musicians living in the village of Polperro, in aid of Cornish charity, Refugee Aid. My daughter Rosie, came up with the idea of raising funds, after seeing harrowing tv footage of the plight of the refugee children, fleeing their homeland in search of safety. The gig will be held at Polperro Arts Foundation from 7.30pm. Hope to see you there.
January 2016 Happy New Year
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2016. We are busy taking bookings for this year, so the gig guide will be updated regularly. Hope to see you at a gig soon.
04/11/2015 Blues In Britain - Live Review
Thanks to Blues In Britain, for publishing this live review, by Graham Munn, in their latest edition.
The Ginger Pig, Worcester - 25/09/2015
'Another cracking evening of music at this lovely little café, with Kris Dollimore on the bill, it was going to prove a superb evening of entertainment. Kris has served a long apprenticeship with bands like Del Amitri and The Damned, but today, he is a consummate blues man, a fine guitarist and singer, with a few tales to relate. 'Soul Of A Man', stood out early in the set, a Blind Willie Johnson gospel song, and an indication of the empathy shown by Kris. There were songs inspired by Son House and John Lee Hooker, that provided a bit of grit to the mix. A dip into his own past and his time with The Damned, 'Testify', was given a Hooker makeover, which worked very nicely. 'All Grown Up', the title track from his current album, carried the drone of working bees over the song, the passion came through powerfully. From a previous life, a short lived marriage in Vegas, the walk down sand blown streets to the Sahara Hotel and gambling, sourced another gritty song, Sahara Blues', all the best blues songs are inspired by life’s bitter experiences!
The first set closed with a superb Robert Johnson spiritual song with an equally superb use of slide, with Charlie Patton, following hard on his heels.
There can be few more relaxed venues than here at The Ginger Pig, where we can all listen comfortably, with plenty of time for chat in the breaks. As Kris started into more from All Grown Up, the sounds of hens clucking in the background from a nearby bar was evident, a few wry smiles, 'Sometimes You Need To Feel The Pain', well, it is blues. A slightly more jazz styled, Django inspired 'Tears', followed closely, before a nod to The Stooges, with a great version of, 'TV Eye'. A school boy prize in a face pulling contest? resulted in a prized Alex Harvey 7" single, the B side was, for Kris, a revelation, 'Gambling Bar Room Blues', subsequently borrowed, the riff is distinctly St. James Infirmary Blues, but the lyrics are the dirt and menace of a dingy bar, well worth purloining! We were nearing the end, we were invited to, 'Wade In the Water', not the sanitized paddle of Eve Cassidy, but the passion and spit drawn from the spiritual slaves of the deep South. The water is a flood of tears, that has irrigated so much of gospel and blues, the roots are deep and even today, the soils are fertile. Kris closed off a brilliant evening with a demonstration of his guitar skills, a pure instrumental with the slide introducing an exotic flavour to, 'East of England', simply beautiful. A wonderful evening at The Ginger Pig.'
17/10/15 New Project! Anglo-American Primitive. Kris Dollimore on John Fahey.
As a diligent and faithful scholar of Fahey's vast body of work, Kris will be taking to the road to recite and raconteur all things John Fahey; demonstrating the impact and inspiration his music has had on Kris himself and a host of others, from all genres and walks of life.
‘John Fahey was a true pioneering, eccentric, maverick. He made the steel strung acoustic guitar a solo instrument in its own right - a concert instrument like piano or classical guitar. Like so many others, I’ve been consumed by the man and his music. I just love to listen to it, play it, share it, turn people on to it. People need to know - its music you must hear before you die. Simple as that.’
This is a rare chance to see for yourself the compositional power of this legendary, innovative acoustic guitarist.
You can watch a trailer on Kris’s YouTube channel where you will also find regular playlist uploads and more. Please subscribe!
